Using AccountRight offline?

MYOB’s AccountRight software remains common in businesses around the country with many choosing to run their file off a local server rather than store it in the cloud.

AccountRight version 2021.1 is coming soon and it will now include automatic software updates – no longer requiring you to download an installer from the MYOB website and apply this to all necessary computers. There is a caveat though – if you are accessing your MYOB file from a local server, you will need to run AccountRight Server Edition not only on the server but all client PCs. In the past, most users have ran server edition on the server and the normal AccountRight software on their workstations.

It is now recommended that you run Server Edition on both the server and client PCs as Server Edition doesn’t automatically update and requires both the server and clients to be running the same software version. You can identify whether you are running the server version of AccountRight by looking at desktop icon or start menu entry. If it is followed by SE you are running the Server Edition.
